Tonight's England Match - 05/07/26 |
||
|
Hello All
Sorry if this has already been sent, but we are just wanting to reiterate the message about tonight's England Match…
With England progressing in the World Cup to face Mexico in the round of 16, the government has taken the decision to allow venues to stay open into the early hours of Monday morning.
However, due to the unusual time of the game – with kick-off not taking place until 1am – it is important to remember that, if you are drinking alcohol in the early hours and then driving shortly after, that you could be over the limit.
There is no guaranteed way to ensure that any alcohol has left your system – and there will likely only be a short period of time between the end of the game and the rush hour commute.
🍻 If you are heading out, or staying at home, it is vital that you keep an eye on how much you are drinking and be aware if you are needing to drive on Monday morning.
❗ Drink driving is one of the “fatal four” causes of collisions that cause death or serious injury – and officers will be checking cars out on the roads to ensure that people are not over the limit.
💤 Even if you haven’t had drink, driving while tired can have a really serious affect on your reaction times, so please make sure you are rested and fit to drive even if you haven’t had a drink.
👮 There will also be enhanced policing across the county to keep people safe and help make sure that the game is one to remember for all the right reasons.
We hope however you're watching the game, it is enjoyable and you don't need us. However, we are there if you do.
#IsItCommingHome?
